Visitors must adhere to precautionary measures at all times

Muscat: The Royal Court Affairs (RCA) Oman announced the reopening of four historical sites for visitors.
A statement issued online by RCA said that the reopening of the sites was based on the decision of the Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Oman.
The four historical sites that were reopened for visitors are the Muscat Gate Museum, Al Mansour Castle in the Wilayat of Rustaq, Hisn Al Shumookh Library and the entertainment centre in the Wilayat of Manah.
The reopening news was also accompanied by strict warning to visitors to adhere to the COVID-19 precautionary measures at all times. Entry will be denied for those not wearing masks, or not adhering to physical distancing and sterilising or washing hands, said a statement issued by RCA.
Oman is known for the historical installations like forts, castles and old market places which have been maintained well, with the rustic charm still intact. One of the major attraction for visitors to Oman has always been the Muttrah Souq dating back to 200 years in its capital Muscat, and the adjoining corniche.
The interior towns and cities too have their fair share of forts and castles, the most notable among them being the Nakhl Fort and castle, Nizwa Fort and Souq, and Jibreen castle to name a few.
Recently the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism under whose remit are some of the historical structures in Oman, informed through an announcement the temporary closure of Rustaq Castle, Nakhl Fort, Al Hazm Fort and Ras Al Hadd fort on account of maintenance work. The Ministry confirmed that the reopening of these will be announced as soon as the work is completed.
With the visa-less entry announced for 103 nations from around the world, Oman expects a good inflow of tourists in the current season.
