Dubai: Kuwaiti authorities have dismantled a vehicle theft gang operating across multiple governorates, arresting a man and a woman accused of stealing cars and looting their contents before abandoning them.

Officials said the suspects used professional tools to carry out the thefts, targeting vehicles in various locations across the country.

Investigators identified the duo as unemployed Kuwaiti citizens who followed a systematic approach — using the stolen vehicles for a brief period before stripping them of valuables and leaving them in open dirt lots. The suspects were captured in the Andalus area, where they admitted to stealing 22 vehicles.

Authorities have recovered 15 stolen cars along with several looted items.

The suspects and the recovered property have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

The Ministry of Interior stressed that it is committed to tackling crime and safeguarding public security, vowing strict legal measures against offenders.

It also urged citizens and residents to report suspicious activities by calling the emergency number 112.
