Cairo: An official Israeli delegation has visited Bahrain for cooperation talks, the Bahraini news agency BNA has reported.

During the talks, held Tuesday in the capital Manama, areas of cooperation between the two countries were discussed in view of their Declaration of Peace, BNA quoted a Bahraini official source as saying.

Last week, Bahrain and the UAE signed historic US-mediated peace treaties with Israel at a White House ceremony.

The pacts make the UAE and Bahrain the fourth Arab countries having diplomatic ties with Israel after Egypt and Jordan.

In the past few days, there has been several phone contacts between Bahraini and Israeli officials to discuss cooperation prospects.

The Bahraini King’s representative and President of the Supreme Council for the Environment, Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, had a phone call with Israeli Minister of Environmental Protection Gila Gamliel on Tuesday.

Both officials exchanged congratulations on signing the Declaration of Peace and reviewed aspects of joint cooperation in environmental protection, climate change and other environmental issues affecting the region, BNA reported.
