Dubai: The Bahrain International Air Show has been cancelled due to coronavirus-induced challenges and travel restrictions that have affected commercial events, large gatherings, conferences and exhibitions around the world, local media reported.

Organisers said the show, which was set to take place from November 18 to 20, will now be held in 2022.

“Upon careful consideration of all factors and after consultation with our partners around the world, we believe this is in the best interest of all delegates, participants and partners, and we look forward to working together to come back stronger in 2022,” statement on the BIAS’s official website said.

The BIAS has become one of the most important fixtures in the aerospace calendar, connecting the industry in the gateway to the Gulf.

It is hosted at Sakhir Air Base, and its first edition took place in 2010.

BIAS has become the ideal opportunity to meet, connect and network with leaders in aerospace who gather in the Kingdom to meet industry counterparts and forge new business relationships.

For over a decade, BIAS has proven to be an event that connects industry in a prestigious environment, offers access to high-level delegations, and opens new avenues of opportunity to organisations of all sizes.
