British police arrest man on suspicion of terrorism
London: British police are holding a 19-year-old man in relation to alleged threats to kill Prime Minister Gordon Brown, police said on Tuesday.
The teenager is being held under the Terrorism Act following a joint operation between Lancashire Police and the Greater Manchester Police Counter Terrorism Unit.
Five men detained in Blackburn, Derby and Accrington earlier this year have been charged with terrorism offences after an investigation into the alleged threats, posted by a group calling itself Al Qaida in Britain.
