Poll worker shot dead in his sleep
A supporter of a candidate opposing the town's re-electionist mayor bid, was shot dead while he was sleeping inside his home in San Jose, Batangas, southern Luzon when , police said.
Relatives of the victim, Eric Lubao, 40, a follower of pro-administration Liberal Party mayoral bet Jay Perez, said the killing was politically motivated.
Lubao's brother Isagani claimed that the victim had received short messaging service warnings from some people warning him to stop supporting Perez. Police said the gunman shot at the victim through a broken window of Lubao's house.
