Manila: In a dramatic turn of events, the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the Calabarzon region has officially tagged a police officer as a "person of interest" in the bewildering case of the missing Miss Grand Philippines 2023 contestant, Catherine Camilon.
The cop, who has not been named, has been relieved of his duties, according to a senior police officer.
Startling revelations have emerged, suggesting that this police officer was reportedly involved in a romantic relationship with Camilon. The Calabarzon Police Regional Office's acting regional director, Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, revealed this connection in a recent statement released to Philippine media.
Local press reports disclosed that Camilon's sister, known as “Ching-Ching”, received a message from a close friend of the victim, divulging the identity of the implicated police officer.
Even more unsettling is the fact that the same officer had provided Camilon with the vehicle she was last seen in, and they had agreed to meet on the very day of her baffling disappearance.
Cop relieved
In response to these shocking developments, Police Brig. Gen. Lucas has confirmed that the police officer in question has been immediately relieved of his duties pending a thorough investigation.
The case of Catherine Camilon, who was reported missing by her family on October 17 and was last seen on October 12, continues to unravel with each passing day, leaving the nation on the edge.
