Manila: A strong tremor jolted southern Philippines on Tuesday. The earthquake in Davao Occidental had a magnitude of 6.6, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

At 9:39 am, a tectonic earthquake struck Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani. According to Phivolcs, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 122 kilometers.

Phivolcs anticipate aftershocks. There were no immediate reports of tsunami or damage. This story isbeing updated.
