The federal government recently unveiled a package of administrative, political and economic measures for the people
Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday inaugurated a 100-unit housing colony for workers in the coastal town of Gwadar in Balochistan province.
The prime minister is in Gwadar along with his cabinet. He is due to oversee the signing of a National Finance Commission award or consensus formula for the distribution of resources from the federal divisible pool to the four provinces.
The Pakistan Peoples Party government has billed the award as its big achievement as the provinces had been unable to come to an agreement on the issue for almost two decades.
Gilani said Gwadar port would usher in a revolution in the lives of the people of Balochistan and also give a substantial boost to the national economy.
The federal government recently unveiled a package of administrative, political and economic measures for the people of the province.
It also offered to hold talks with alienated Baloch nationalist leaders, including those in exile, to resolve the grievances in the restive province.
