Dubai: Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered immediate action against the perpetrators who attached and vandalised a Hindu temple in Kahirpur town of Sindh province in Pakistan.
Imran took to twitter taking notice of the news reports, sayin: “The government of Sindh must take swift and decisive action against the perpetrators. This is against the teachings of the Quran.” He also shared photos of the vandalised temple on his twitter account.
According to media reports, a group of miscreants entered Sham Sundar Shewa Mandli Temple in Kumb city of district Khairpur and set ablaze three Hindu sacred books on February 3.
Khan on Tuesday night ordered an investigation into an attack. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, which was condemned by Hindus as well as Muslims across the country.
Ramesh Kumar, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, went to Kumb on Tuesday along with top government officials in the area to visit the temple and examine the damages.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail also took notice of the desecration of the temple upon receiving a report from Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Member of the National Assembly Jai Prakash Ukrani.
In a statement issued by Governor House, Ismail had said such incidents were part of a conspiracy to sabotage the prevalent interfaith harmony and religious concord in the province. He said the government was making all-out efforts to ensure safety and security of minorities.
