Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has made some major changes in his cabinet on Monday.

Dubai: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced major changes in his federal cabinet and has also changed some high profile officials including the Chief of Federal Board of Revenue.

The cabinet reshuffle was announced on Prime Minister Office official tweet on Monday.

The cabinet reshuffle is being linked to the inquiry reports of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) which revealed involvement of some ministers and senior officials from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in the sugar and wheat crisis in the country.

Chief Justice

Following are the major changes in the cabinet:

1-Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Makdoum Khusro Bakhtiar resigned from the ministry and has now been appointed as minister for economic affairs, replacing Hammad Azhar.

2-Syed Fakhar Imam has been appointed as Federal Minister for National Food Security

3-Hammad Azhar has been named as Minister for Industries

4-Babar Awan has been appointed as Adviser for Parliamentary Affairs replacing Azam Swati

5-Mohammad Shahzad Arbab has been removed as Adviser to the premier on accountability.

6-Aminul Haq has been appointed as Federal Minister for Telecommunication

7-MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s resignation as federal IT minister was also accepted

8-Azam Swati has been appointed Minister of Narcotics control.

9-Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Establishment, Shehzad Arbab, has been removed from his position

10-Omar Hameed has been appointed as Secretary Ministry of National Food Security

11-Shabbar Zaidi has been removed as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman with immediate effect, and Nausheen Javaid Amjad has been appointed the new chairperson.
