Karachi: Pakistan will showcase its modernisation in defence production at the four-day international military hardware and services exhibition starting in Karachi on Tuesday.

The Defence Export Promotion Organisation in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence Production is jointly organising the 11th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS). Every addition of the IDEAS has been held at the Karachi Expo Centre since the year 2000. ‘Arms for peace’ is the slogan of every edition.

Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, who chairs the steering committee for IDEAS, ordered elaborate traffic arrangements and the beautification of the city to welcome foreign delegates. Top-level defence delegations from 64 countries are going to attend the show.

A seminar on the importance of AI in military affairs will be held on the sidelines of IDEAS.

An air show will be organised on Karachi’s coastline at Sea View on November 17.

Pakistan Post has issued a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion.
