Secret Service, Bollywood A-listers: Lake Pichola turns into a billionaire wedding bubble

Udaipur is rolling out the red carpet — and the gold — as Donald Trump Jr. jets into the city on Friday evening for a billionaire wedding that looks more like a royal takeover than a family celebration.
For three days, an ultra-luxury heritage hotel on the banks of Lake Pichola has been completely shut off to outsiders. All 82 rooms and three grand suites have been snapped up, turning the property into a private fortress for high-profile guests flying in from India and abroad.
Trump Jr. will be living like actual royalty. His room of choice? The opulent Maharaja Suite, priced at an eye-watering Rs1 million a night. Not far behind is the Royal Suite, reserved at Rs700,000 per night.
The wedding is for Netra Mantena, daughter of US-based billionaire Rama Raju Mantena, and groom Vamsi Gadiraju. The main ceremony on November 23 will take place in a palace floating on Lake Pichola — the kind of venue that makes even Bollywood sets look modest.
Security is in full Hollywood mode. A US Secret Service team is already inside the hotel, alongside a heavy police presence. A private corridor has been carved out so Trump Jr. doesn’t cross paths with anyone he isn’t supposed to. Even the hotel’s own cars are banned; a fleet of luxury vehicles with Haryana number plates has taken over guest movement.
Trump Jr. is expected to land at Dabok Airport at 5.15 p.m. on a chartered jet, then speed straight to the hotel before attending a glitzy musical night at Zenana Mahal at 6 p.m.
The festivities kicked off on Thursday with a welcome dinner hosted by actress Amyra Dastur, featuring Rajasthani Manganiyar musicians. And the celebrity arrivals are only getting bigger. Four chartered flights will bring in Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vaani Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar.
Inside the hotel, the extravagance is on overload. Gold work on the walls and ceilings. Silver detailing in bedrooms and even the kitchen. Multi-course international menus. Panoramic lake views from every turn. It’s luxury dialled up to maximum.
Officials say the city has gone into “high-alert wedding mode,” with tight security and special barricades as Udaipur braces for one of the most lavish private events it has hosted in recent memory.
