Hyderabad : It is more or less decided that Telangana Congress legislators and Members of Parliament will not be quitting on the issue of Telangana state while the members of Telangana Rashtra Samiti and Telugu Desam will meet the Speaker N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on January 29 for their resignations.

That Congress-elected representatives from Telangana region have given in to pressures of the party high command became clear on yesterday when they cancelled their Delhi trip at the instance of party general secretary Veerappa Moily.

Two senior leaders of the group and former ministers K. Jana Reddy and R. Damodar Reddy, who had gone to Delhi, rushed back to Hyderabad after Moily made it clear that there was no need for either Telangana leaders or Andhra and Rayala Seema leaders to come to the capital.

Earlier the Telangana groups had decided to make a representation to the high command to make a favourable statement before January 28, the deadline fixed by all party Telangana Joint Action Committee.

But Moily said that such visits and representations were further complicating the issue and not helping in solution. He assured the leaders of Telagana region that central government was going to make a statement on the issue very soon.
