Hyderabad: In a gruesome incident, a son angry over his father’s drinking habit murdered him and stored his body parts in seven buckets at home.

He also forced his mother and sister to take part in the grisly crime.

Though murder was committed on Friday, it came to light now after a stench coming from the house in Secunderabad forced the neighbours to alert the police.

According to the police, 80-year-old Suthar Maruthi was poisoned to death by his son Kishan. Later he cut the dead body into many pieces and stored them in seven plastic buckets to dispose them away from home. Subsequently, he washed and cleaned the floor of the house to remove the blood stains.

Police said that Kishan forced his mother Gaya and sister Prafful to be part of the crime.

“The family was angry with Maruthi over his drinking habits and harassment,” a police official said. Kishan’s attempt to dispose off the body parts could not succeed as the house was located in a narrow lane and taking the buckets without arousing the curiosity of the people proved difficult.

Malkajgiri police have arrested all the three accused and were investigating the case. Body parts were shifted to mortuary of Gandhi hospital and samples were also sent for the DNA test to establish the identity of the victim beyond doubt.

Maruthi was a retired driver of Indian Railways. He had four children. While eldest son and a daughter were married other two children were staying with the parents.
