An Indian woman was killed by her lover over working as a prostitute who also happened to be her son-in-law.
On October 20, 2019, the incident occurred in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, reported an international website.
The incident took place at their apartment in Ashoka Vihar Colony, Ashoka Garden.
The victim was identified as Shaheen while the suspect has been named as Shahrukh Khan.
According to police, the couple lived together for about three years after Shaheen divorced her husband.
After Khan married Shaheen’s daughter, the duo soon became attracted to each other and began having an affair.
The rest of the family found out and objected but the lovers continued with their relationship and eventually moved to an apartment together.
After her murder, an investigation began and police concluded that Shaheen has been working as a prostitute that Khan disapproved of.
On Saturday evening, October 19, the two reportedly quarrelled about her prostitution which led to Khan to strangle her to death before calling a friend to explain what he had done.
The next day at 6 am, Khan called the police and confessed that he had killed Shaheen. He then left the flat and has been on the run ever since.
Police reached the flat and registered a case of murder against the suspect. They took the body and ordered a post-mortem to be conducted.
Officers found out they were lovers as well as mother-in-law and son-in-law after speaking to family members.
The police also revealed that Shaheen was previously arrested for being a sex worker as well as running a prostitution ring. The Indian woman was taken into custody following a raid.
She spent several days in custody before being released. However, upon her release, she went back to prostitution.
