India: Two girls die after falling into Kerala’s Peechi dam

Dubai: Two 16-year-old girls have died after slipping and falling into the Peechi dam reservoir in Thrissur, Kerala.

The teenagers have been identified as Ann Grace and Aleena Shajan.

The condition of two other teenage girls, who also fell into the reservoir and sustained severe injuries, remains critical, reports said.

A special medical team, including doctors from Thrissur Medical College, is treating the girls.

The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the girls were exploring the dam. Two girls lost their footing and fell into the reservoir while standing on a slippery rock. The other two fell into the water while trying to rescue them.
