Dubai: A male trainee nurse was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly placing a hidden camera in the changing room used by nurses and staff at the Government Medical College Hospital, police said.

The accused, Anson Joseph (24), a resident of South Charalel, Manjoor, was caught after a staff member discovered a mobile phone recording inside the changing area.

Anson, who had completed his BSc in Nursing, had joined the hospital for training a month ago. The incident came to light when a hospital staffer entered the room after him and noticed the phone’s camera was switched on.

Suspicious of foul play, she immediately alerted her colleagues, who then informed hospital authorities. The matter was reported to the Gandhinagar police, leading to Anson’s arrest.

Police confirmed that the phone had been deliberately placed to record videos. Further investigation is underway to determine if any footage was captured or shared.

Hospital authorities have assured strict action and emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety and privacy of all staff members.
