Former soldier turned security guard details the gruesome act to police
Dubai: A Hyderabad man allegedly killed his wife and attempted to conceal the crime by dismembering her body and boiling the parts in a pressure cooker, news reports said.
Guru Murthy, 45, a former soldier now working as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), reportedly confessed to the crime during police questioning. However, his claims are still under investigation, according to NDTV.
The victim, Venkata Madhavi, 35, was reported missing by her family on January 16. Police began their inquiry with suspicions directed at her husband. According to Inspector Nagaraju, “the parents had filed a missing person complaint, and the husband accompanied them. We grew suspicious and questioned him. He confessed to the crime.”
Murthy allegedly detailed the gruesome act, saying he dismembered his wife’s body in the bathroom and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker. Over three days, he packed the remains and disposed of them in a lake.
The police are in the process of verifying his chilling account.
