Killing of married couple may have had something to do with the construction of a temple

Hyderabad: Telangana state police have arrested four suspects for the of murder of a lawyer-couple. Kunta Srinivas, Manthani Block President of Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Akkapaka Kumar and Chiranjeevi were arrested on the border of Maharashtra while afourth, Bittu Srinu, was arrested in Manthani. Significantly Srinu was the nephew of Ramagundam Zilla Parishad Chairman P Madhukar.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravinder told media that the arrest of the four persons will expedite the probe and will bring out the entire story behind the brutal murder of High Court lawyers Vaman Rao and his wife Nagamani.
According to the police both Rao and Srinivas hailed from the same village and there was a bitter rivalry between the two over construction of a Ram temple in the village.
On the fateful day alleged killers hired by Srinivas reached the spot in two vehicles and killed the couple in broad day light.
Later Srinivas and another assailant went to a canal and washed themselves of blood stains and their blood stained cloths in water. Later they fled to neighbouring Maharashtra state.
The involvement of TRS leaders has given the case a political colour with the Congress and BJP targeting the ruling party.
SP Satyanarayana Saif that the use of technological tools and tracing of mobile phone helps the police in nabbing the accused.
Meanwhile TRS has dismissed Srinivas from the post of Block President in view of serious charges.
