India: Congress party president makes his sister Priyanka in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday appointed his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as party General Secretary in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

She will take charge in the first week of February, a Congress statement said.

Rahul Gandhi also appointed K C Venugopal as AICC General Secretary, also in charge of Karnataka, and Jyotiraditya Scindia as AICC general secretary for Uttar Pradesh west.
