A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Dhaka to Dubai, carrying 396 passengers and 12 crew members, made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport in Maharashtra, officials said on Thursday (February 20, 2025).

Flight BG-347 landed safely at 10:45 pm (BST) following a technical glitch, the airline said in a statement. Passengers were provided with necessary support, including accommodation.

The flight had departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:53 pm (BST) on Wednesday. A replacement Boeing 777 was dispatched to Nagpur on Thursday morning, arriving at 12:39 pm (BST) before continuing to Dubai with the stranded passengers.

Aviation regulators have launched an investigation into the malfunction, while Biman Bangladesh Airlines assured that safety checks and preventive measures will be reinforced.

Meanwhile, an Indian media report noted this was the third unscheduled landing involving Biman.

In recent months, several airlines have faced mid-air technical issues, prompting stricter safety inspections and maintenance compliance measures. The incident underscores the importance of emergency preparedness in commercial aviation.
