A 14-year-old boy died by suicide in Kandivali on Wednesday evening following an argument with his mother over attending tuition, according to NDTV.

The family lives on the 51st floor of the Brooke building in Kandivali West, Mumbai.

According to police, the boy’s mother — an actor known for her work in Hindi and Gujarati television — had urged him to attend his tuition class around 7pm. When he resisted, she reportedly reminded him several times before he finally left the apartment.

Shortly afterward, a building watchman knocked on the door to inform the mother that her son had fallen from the building. The boy is believed to have descended a few floors before jumping. He was found lying in a pool of blood and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been filed. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

While no foul play is suspected at this stage, police have launched a detailed investigation. Statements from the family have been recorded, and further inquiries are ongoing.
