Why did you kill me? What wrong have I done?

Hyderabad: The anger and resentment among the supporters of slain Telugu Desam Party leaders Kadiri Sarveshwara Rao, MLA and Siveri Soma, former MLA has found a new way of expression in the tribal areas of Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh.

Posters have appeared in and around Araku valley in the tribal area in the name of “Martyr Siveri Somu” asking a few hard hitting questions to the Maoists.

Sarveshwara Rao, TDP MLA from Araku and his associate former MLA Somu were brutally shot dead by a group of Maoists last week.

The colour poster in the form of a letter from the slain former MLA Somu to the Maoists has created a major stir in the region.

The poster with the mug shot of Somu as well as the photo of his bullet-ridden body has asked Maoists to answer why he was killed. “I am a former MLA. I have six children. The eldest son also could not get a job. I stay in a rented house. What wrong have I done? If I had done something wrong, did you give me a warning? No, you did not. Then why did you kill me? So far you did not answer me. For whom I was a class enemy? Dear Maoists please tell me. At least the rights organisations answer me”.

Interestingly the red colour poster with the Telugu script in white colour was in the same pattern and design normally used by the Maoists.

The people in the region especially the ruling TDP supporters and tribal communities were still shocked and stunned over the killing of the two leaders.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who visited Araku and met the families of both the victims assured all possible help to them. He announced Rs1 crore assistance and job to a son of the MLA Sarveshwara Rao.

Meanwhile, the members of the outlawed CPI Maoist have again carried out a major attack on the borders of Chattisgarh and Telangana on Sunday. According to the reports coming from Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh adjoining Bhdaradari-Kothagudem district of Telangana Maoists have attacked base camp of Central Paramilitary Force near Pamedu.

However the attack was repulsed by the alert police force. Exchange of fire was continuing in the area, police said.

In another development a left wing extremist belonging to another organisation CPIML (New Democracy) was arrested by Telangana police in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district. Squad commander of Pedda Chandranna group N Upendra alias Prasad, who had gone under ground more than a year ago after jumping the bail, was arrested when he was on his way to Khammam district for medical treatment. However the police was yet to announce his arrest officially.
