Proceeds from new product line will be used to empower refugee children

DUBAI Looking to buy a travel bag for your summer holidays? You may want to consider Lipault.
Proceeds from the sale of the French luggage brand’s new collection will go towards building community libraries for Syrian refugee children in Jordan.
Collaboration
Designed in collaboration with Palestyle, a design house that works with refugee artisans for social and economic empowerment, the Arab-inspired collection is now available at Mosafer stores across the UAE.
Ashraf Abu Issa, chairman, Abu Issa Holding, the distributor of the brand in the GCC, said, “We continuously endeavour to build socially-conscious brands in the region.
Extending Lipault’s heritage in enhancing travel experience with stylish designs and durable bags, the new collection aims to provide travellers with an opportunity to alleviate psychological distress among displaced children through bibliotherapy – a healing technique that involves the reading of specific texts and collective reading. “The aesthetics of the new line – rightfully named ‘Prosperity Collection’ – is a story in itself. The intricate designs and vibrant colours are a reminder of the rich Arab heritage, and evokes optimism amongst the people of the region,” he said.
Each library in the Al Azraq refugee camp, located 100km east of Jordan’s capital Amman will have around 300 books and will be manned by a librarian.
