Young Emirati woman wins Mercedes in first attempt at Dubai Duty Free raffle

Dubai: A young Emirati woman in the UAE drove into the spotlight with her first-ever win in the Dubai Duty Free (DDF) Finest Surprise draw this week. Her lucky ticket earned her a brand-new luxury car.

Maryam Fahad Al Nowais won a Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 coupe in the latest draw held on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old from Abu Dhabi was named the winner of the luxury Sunny Yellow sports car in Series 1930 of the Finest Surprise promotion.

A VIP lead at a bank, Maryam had bought her winning ticket (No. 0733) in Concourse A of Dubai International Airport on July 31.

“I can’t believe I won with my first ever ticket. You’re the best, Dubai Duty Free!” she told the organisers when she was informed about the special win.

Maryam was one of the four winners of the DDF Finest Surprise draw for luxury cars and motorbikes. The other three winners, all Indian expats, won a BMW car and two bikes.

Her win highlights the exciting unpredictability of the long-running DDF draws, where even first-time participants walk away with premium cars and motorbikes and sometimes the $1 million jackpot in the DDF Millennium Millionaire draw.
