Dubai: The Dubai Police have reminded residents to celebrate the UAE’s 50th National Day “safely and responsibly by following road safety rules”. Today, police issued a full list of traffic violations, including fines, black points and vehicle impoundment for those who fail to comply with the rules.
The authorities told motorists that installing the national flag on vehicles is permissible, as long as it does not pose a danger or compromise the safety of the driver and others.
Below are the violations and their corresponding penalties:
Driving in a way that endangers the lives or safety of the driver or others — Dh2,000 fine plus 23 black points and vehicle impoundment for 60 days.
Stopping the vehicle in the middle of the road without any reason — Dh1,000 fine plus six black points.
Driving the vehicle in a parade without permission or approval — Dh500 fine plus four black points and 15 days of vehicle impoundment.
Driving a noisy vehicle — Dh2,000 fine plus 12 black points.
Tinting the car windows darker without permission — Dh1,500 fine.
Pasting any word or sticker on the vehicle without permission — Dh500 fine
Using the vehicle’s horn or speakers in a disturbing way — Dh400 fine plus four black points.
Failure to follow policemen instructions — Dh400 fine plus four black points
Traffic obstruction — Dh500 fine.
Blurring plate number — Dh400 fine.
Throwing trash from the vehicle on the road — Dh1,000 fine plus six black points.
Obey road safety rules
Dubai Police reminded motorists to follow traffic laws. They added: “It is strictly prohibited to make any marches. Drafting the vehicles are prohibited.” “Don’t darken or colour the windshield. Don’t hide the front or rear number plates. Don’t use any kind of spray. Don’t stop the vehicle or get out of it on the public road. Don’t overload the vehicle. It is strictly prohibited to ride air wheels on public roads. Don’t change the vehicle’s colour. Don’t get out of the windows or sunroof of the vehicle.”

Dubai Police extended their sincerest congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of all the Emirates, Deputy Rulers, Crown Princes and all Emiratis on the occasion of the UAE’s 50th National Day.
In a statement marking the national occasion, Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, said this year is exceptional as the UAE government and people celebrate the Union’s 50th anniversary.
“Thanks to the vision of our wise leadership, the UAE has become a symbol of eminence and a role model that the world aspires to be in terms of development, progress and prosperity,” he added.
Lt Gen. Al Marri further noted that our Founding Fathers have indeed laid strong and solid foundations, the pillars of which are unity, security, stability and tolerance and above all, arming our nation with science, knowledge and cultural values.
“The UAE Golden Jubilee also marks declaring December 2 as the World Futures Day by UNESCO, in an international recognition of the success of the UAE’s forward-looking vision for the future in all sectors and its ability to excel and lead in various fields,” he added as he reaffirmed Dubai Police’s commitment to fulfilling their national duty in protecting, serving and ensuring the happiness of the UAE society.
