Fond of fishing? Head to Al Zorah Beach, where the catch is as exciting as the view!
Al Zorah Beach in Ajman has become a favourite spot for many Filipinos, especially for those who enjoy fishing and spending quality time with family and friends. As Resty Lapuz, a seasoned fisherman and businessman, explains, fishing at Al Zorah Beach is completely free. It’s the perfect place to relax, whether you want to fish all day, enjoy the beautiful scenery, or simply unwind in the fresh sea breeze.
“There’s a wide variety of fish here—barracuda, kingfish, and more. You can spend the entire day and night fishing if you wish,” says Lapuz, who has been living in Dubai since 2006 and runs a cleaning company.
Al Zorah Beach is an open, family-friendly space where everyone can have a good time. The area is perfect for those who want to enjoy the outdoors, with plenty of room for relaxation, picnics, and even barbecues. For many, it’s a popular weekend retreat, with the beach offering a peaceful environment that is both refreshing and social.
Located just a short drive from Dubai and other northern emirates like Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, Al Zorah Beach is easily accessible for both locals and tourists. This makes it a convenient location for a quick fishing trip or a longer day out. The road network leading to the beach is well-maintained, and there are plenty of parking spaces available, ensuring that visitors can get to the beach with minimal hassle.
One group that frequently gathers here is the Golden Anglers, a Filipino fishing club that has grown into a strong community of over 100 members from across the UAE. “Our group has been operating for four years, and we have built a strong camaraderie. It’s more than just fishing; it’s about friendship, sharing our catch, and bonding with our families,” says Lapuz.
The Golden Anglers welcome anyone to join their group for free, whether they are experienced fishermen or beginners. Members come from as far as Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain, all uniting for a shared love of fishing and community. "Sometimes, I can catch three to four fish in a day, but the real joy is in sharing what we catch with everyone around us," says Lapuz.
