Dubai: The UAE is currently experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures consistently hovering around 40°C across the country, according to AccuWeather. The mercury hit a blistering peak today, reaching a scorching 47.7∘C in Mezaira, located in the Al Dhafra region, at 2.15 pm.

Rain expected: NCM forecasts convective clouds and showers until July 27

Despite the sweltering heat, residents can anticipate a shift in the weather pattern with an increased chance of rain this week. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued its weekly weather report, forecasting a high probability of rainfall across the UAE until Sunday, July 27.

This expected precipitation is attributed to an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the East, combined with an extension of a weak upper air low-pressure system. These atmospheric conditions are conducive to the formation of convective clouds, which are likely to bring showers.

The general forecast for the coming days is fair to partly cloudy. There's a notable probability of convective clouds forming, particularly over the eastern regions, which could be associated with rainfall.

Humidity and winds: Expect mist and blowing dust

Humidity levels are expected to rise by night and into Friday morning, especially over some coastal and internal areas. There's also a chance of mist formation, particularly towards the west.

Winds will be light to moderate, predominantly from the Southwesterly to Northwesterly directions. These winds are expected to freshen at times during the daytime, potentially causing blowing dust with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/hr, occasionally reaching up to 40 km/hr.

For those planning to head to the sea, conditions are expected to be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
