Dubai: Various parts of the UAE will see the weather change over the weekend as forecasters expect light rain to fall across the northern and coastal areas.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) urged motorists to take caution while driving during the rain, and warned against poor visibility due to sand and dust blowing over exposed areas. Residents should not visit wadis and dams, and advised not to visit offshore areas due to rough waves expected in the Arabian Gulf.

The NCM said that the weather on Thursday will first rise slightly, with temperatures reaching 29C in coastal areas and 32C in internal areas, with humidity levels to reach 90 per cent and 95 per cent respectively.

“Mist and fog may form in the morning over some internal and coastal areas, and it will be partly cloudy and hazy at times during the day,” said the NCM.

By Thursday night, the NCM said that clouds will form over the coast and the islands, which will bring in some light rain accompanied with southeasterly-northeasterly winds that may reach speeds of up to 32km/h at times.

On Friday, residents can expect cloudy weather with some scattered showers over the northern areas with light to moderate winds that will range from 18-30 km/hr.

The cooler weather will continue until Saturday as more clouds are expected to form over the coastal and northern areas, with more rain expected to fall at night.
