Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prima Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday wished people celebrating Diwali.

Taking to Twitter, Sheikh Mohammed shared the wishes on behalf of the people of the UAE.

“We congratulate all those who celebrate Diwali. Wishing them a happy festival,” Sheikh Mohammed’s tweet added.

The Hindu festival of lights is celebrated in a grand way in Dubai with a series of events, promotions and fireworks marking the festivities post COVID-19.

Also on Monday, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, tweeted: "To everyone celebrating Diwali worldwide, Dubai wishes you a happy Diwali. May this occasion bring joy and happiness to all of you."
