Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced a partial closure of Al Ittihad Road, a major artery connecting Dubai and Sharjah, on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

According to the RTA, two out of five lanes in both directions — from Dubai to Sharjah and vice versa — will be closed from 12:00am to 10:00am to facilitate ongoing infrastructure works.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road closure

The RTA also announced via its official X account another partial road closure on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (Service Road) scheduled for Sunday, May 25.

The closure will be in effect from 12:00am to 8:00am, affecting two out of three lanes in the direction from Sharjah to Dubai, due to ongoing road works.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes, and allow extra travel time to avoid delays and ensure a smooth commute during the closure period.
