Ajman Police has launched a new community initiative called “Safe Crossing Heroes”, aimed at teaching children and their parents how to cross the road safely and avoid dangerous behavior that could lead to accidents.

The campaign, rolled out by the City Police Station of Ajman Police General Headquarters, is part of broader efforts to raise traffic awareness and promote safety across the community.

Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, head of the City Police Station, explained that the goal is to instill road safety habits in children from an early age. The initiative uses interactive and on-the-ground educational activities to help reduce the number of pedestrian accidents—especially those caused by risky behaviors, such as kids playing on streets and sidewalks, or parents not keeping a close eye on their children.

Captain Hamad Ali bin Zaal Al Muhairi, head of Traffic and Patrols at the station, added that police teams carried out awareness campaigns in public areas and on the streets. They handed out flyers to families, which included a QR code linking to detailed information on safe road-crossing practices for children. Another QR code lets users give feedback on the campaign and share how useful they found it.

This child-focused initiative is part of Ajman Police’s ongoing commitment to keeping families safe and informed.
