Dubai: Some residents were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in their residential building in Bur Dubai’s Bank Street

on Monday afternoon.

The blaze is suspected to have started on the third floor of the building and forced residents to evacuate the building, eyewitnesses told Gulf News.

Some residents were treated for smoke inhalation while firefighters fought to douse the fire. They said most of the occupants are Filipino expats.

“Some five to six of them were taken to the ambulances and were treated for smoke inhalation. Some others sustained minor injuries. They are all very panicky,” said an Indian man.

Several people crowded near the building located behind ADCB bank. Vehicles of Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Police and ambulances were on the site for long.
