Truck driver unharmed, but his passenger died after a speeding car overtook them

Ras Al Khaimah: A 37-year-old man succumbed to fatal injuries when the vehicle he was a passenger in crashed into a lamp post on Al Shuhada’a Road in Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday morning.

Brigadier Hassan Ibrahim Ali, deputy director of police operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the operation room received a call around 8am reporting the incident.

Police patrols and paramedics rushed to the scene, and investigations revealed that the 27-year-old Asian driver lost control of the vehicle when a speeding car wrongly overtook him.

The driver escaped the accident unharmed, and the case was referred to authorities for further action.

Brigadier Ali urged motorists to abide by traffic rules and speed limits on the road for their safety and the safety of others.
