New biometric verification feature to help safeguard users’ data
Dubai: Pakistani expats living in the UAE will now benefit from an additional layer of security introduced in the Pak ID mobile app by Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The mobile app allows users to apply for various types of Pakistani identity cards, including the Smart National ID Card for Overseas Pakistanis.
To enhance security measures, NADRA has now added a biometric verification process.
“Biometric verification is now required when signing in from a new device,” NADRA announced.
The app streamlines the process of applying for and managing identity documents. It enables Pakistanis – both within the country and abroad – to apply for ID cards and certificates directly from their smartphones, eliminating the need to visit NADRA offices.
According to NADRA, the new biometric verification feature will help safeguard users’ data.
“Designed to protect citizens’ information, this new security feature helps prevent unauthorised access, identity theft, and misuse of Pak ID accounts,” NADRA added.
