Dubai: An Emirati motorist was killed when the car he was driving crashed into the back of a truck on Emirates Road on Thursday. The truck had stopped due to traffic on the road.
The Emirati driver did not pay attention to the truck and crashed into it from behind, Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Traffic Department, Dubai Police, said.
"The Emirati was in a black vehicle and crashed into the truck on Emirates Road before Dubai-Al Ain bridge towards Sharjah. It was the negligence of the driver as he didn't pay attention to the traffic. He died after the crash," Brig Al Mazroui told Gulf News.
Three lanes of Emirates Road were closed for a while and the traffic flow was managed by Dubai Police.
