It was out with the old and in with the new when MMI launched its latest logo last night. According to MMI, the new logo reflects the group's progressive approach and vision to its customers. It also has a different look for each of its seven businesses.

Different colours are used to identify each of the businesses under MMI's umbrella. But last night's launch was just a preview, said Mark Rogers, corporate marketing manager. The full changeover, including stationery, signs and vehicles, will be completed by Saturday.

Rogers hopes people will notice the difference. MMI General Manager Kerem Camcigil said it was time for the logo to be changed because the old logo no longer symbolised MMI.

"While it was necessary to retain an element of the former logo for which we are traditionally renowned and to maintain the awareness created by this, the new look not only establishes MMI's unique identity as a whole but also reinforces Emirates' acquisition of a majority share." Last year, Emirates Group bought 49 per cent of MMI and is now the largest shareholder.
