Man on visit visa survives high rise fall in Sharjah

Sharjah: A 23-year-old Indian man survived after falling from an apartment in Al Nadha area of Sharjah, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

Police said the man fell from the fifth-floor balcony of his relative's apartment in a 14-storey building at around 7pm on Monday. He was admitted to Al Kuwaiti hospital for treatment.

An officer from Al Buhairah Police Station said that the man came on a visit to UAE with his family.

He has been put under police watch after initial investigation revealed that he was mentally ill.

It was not immediately clear whether the man attempted suicide or it was an accident.
