Gulf Turrets, a Dubai-based telecommunications infrastructure services provider, has recently signed a contract with Emirates Telecommunications Corp (Etisalat) to repaint its antennae across the UAE.
Work on the contract, valued at about Dh300,000, has already started in Al Mushrif and Al Aweer and Masafi, where Etisalat has its facilities.
The second phase of the repainting project will start soon in Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and the east cost of the UAE, said Swami Nathan, the project manager at Gulf Turrets.
Overall, there will be six antennae to be repainted. These were painted last year. The height of the antennae are in three sizes from as high as 150 metres to 100 metres and 70 metres. The contracted project does not cover Abu Dhabi.
The whole project will be completed within a span of two months, Nathan added.
