Dubai: The Twitter page of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has acquired two million followers, making him one of the most followed leaders in the world.

On his Twitter page, Shaikh Mohammad expressed his thanks and appreciation to his followers for actively participating in the process of suggesting many ideas and initiatives, and contributing to their success. He also thanked them for their enriching debates on developmental and social topics brought up on the page.

“My twitter page followers reached two million today, thanks to your continuous support. To all our followers, you have been the core value by suggesting ideas, responding to initiatives and participating in many discussions. And you were behind the success of many social and humanitarian campaigns we launched on twitter,” Shaikh Mohammad tweeted.

Shaikh Mohammad promised his followers that his twitter page will always be a platform for discussing topics, suggestions, and initiatives that will benefit the society.

His Twitter page was able to attract 90,000 new followers every month.

Shaikh Mohammad’s Twitter followers include people from the Arab world, Europe, Latin America, as well as Japan and India. A total of 43 per cent of his followers are from the UAE, as well as large numbers from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Egypt.

The success achieved by Shaikh Mohammad’s Twitter page can be attributed to the diversity of topics and issues discussed, such as development initiatives and national achievements that are directly related to Emiratis and UAE residents, as well as discussions on a variety of charitable and humanitarian initiatives carried out at the regional and international level.

The success of the page can also be attributed to Shaikh Mohammad’s keenness to comment on current international and regional topics and issues.
