UAE urges cooperation for global water security

Dubai: The UAE is keen on enhancing cooperation to ensure water security both regionally and internationally due to its belief that this approach alone can guarantee communities across the world access to safe and pure water as part of their human rights.

Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, added in a statement to mark World Water Day, which is celebrated on March 22, and is being held under the theme ‘Cooperation in the field of water’ this year that the UN General Assembly has announced 2013 as the international year for water cooperation, which stresses the fact that cooperation is needed on the national, regional, and international levels.
