Dubai: The UAE will host the 87th Interpol General Assembly 2018 in Dubai after the General Assembly of the world organisation has chosen the UAE as the host country for the next international meeting.

Brigadier General Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, director-general of the Federal Criminal Police and head of the UAE delegation participating in the 86th General Assembly, received the Interpol flag as a representative from the hosting country.

The 86th General Assembly which kicked off last week in Beijing in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed a range of issues, including ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between institutions of member states operating in the police field, as well as a number of organisational issues.

The ministry’s delegation included Brigadier General Abdul Wahid Ahmad Al Hammadi, director of International Criminal Police Administration at the Ministry of Interior; Colonel Saeed Al Qemzi, deputy director of the Wanted Department of the Dubai Police General Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department; Major Hamad Abdullah Al Za’abi from the International Criminal Police Administration at the Ministry of Interior; and Captain Ahmad Mohammad Bin Fahad from the General Administration of Smart Services in Dubai Police.
