UAE and Japan discuss security cooperation

Abu Dhabi: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lt General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far and the Deputy Director General of the Japanese National Anti-Narcotics Agency discussed ways to boost cooperation and existing coordination between the ministries of Interior in the UAE and Japan during his visit to the country.

The Japanese official also met the Director General of the Anti-Narcotics Department at the ministry, Col Saeed Al Suwaidi where they discussed a number of issues, notably, exchange of expertise in the area of drugs.

Earlier the anti-narcotics authorities in the UAE, in cooperation with their Japanese counterparts, foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs weighing 12kg.
