The Council affirms commitment to development, community, and national unity
Sharjah: Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired the Council’s weekly meeting on Tuesday at the Ruler’s Office. The session was held in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah and Deputy Chairmen of the Council.
At the outset, the Council extended heartfelt congratulations to the President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; as well as to all Rulers, citizens, residents, and Muslims on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al Adha.
The Council praised the Ruler of Sharjah’s recent approval of 400 new jobs for Emirati men and women in government departments across the emirate. It also commended the allocation of Dh55.8 million to the Sharjah Programme for Training and Qualifying Jobseekers — a move that underscores the Ruler’s commitment to supporting citizens, boosting employment, and enhancing both quality of life and professional development.
The Council expressed its deep appreciation for the swift and professional response of national teams to the recent fire at Hamriyah Port. It highlighted the high level of preparedness, coordination, and effective crisis management demonstrated by Sharjah Police, the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, National Guard, Civil Defence, emergency and crisis management bodies, and other local and federal authorities. Their efforts successfully prevented any loss of life.
The Council approved a new unified guide for advertising and commercial signage to align business branding with the emirate’s visual identity and aesthetic standards. The guide outlines design principles, permit procedures, and regulatory standards, aiming to promote an attractive and well-organised urban environment. It covers categories such as shop signs, directional signage, and promotional boards, as well as placement criteria and supervision protocols.
The Council reviewed several ongoing social initiatives aimed at strengthening Emirati families, fostering intergenerational bonds, and upholding national, cultural, and religious identity. These efforts form part of Sharjah’s broader social vision to preserve community values while promoting cohesion and sustainable growth within local households.
