Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has praised contributions made by the first generation of the UAE Armed Forces to serve the nation.

While meeting with first generation officers of the Zayed the Second Military College, Shaikh Mohammad expressed his pride and appreciation in the veterans who served in various national institutions and contributed to developing and modernising the country since its inception and instilled the same spirit in the younger generations.

Highlighting the role of the college in preparing national cadres Shaikh Mohammad praised the efforts and hard work made by the first batch of college’s graduates to boost performance of the UAE Armed Forces.

He noted that the college’s first generation played a pivotal role in commanding military units and formations and setting development and modernisation plans for the UAE Armed Forces. Shaikh Mohammad they had a proven track record of strengthening the pillars of the UAE Armed Forces and performing the national duty in battlefields.

“Zayed the Second Military College has been given utmost attention by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which made it one of the prominent military colleges in the region and today it stands on par with other international military institutes”, Shaikh Mohammad said.

He said: “The UAE Armed Forces have proved their high efficiency in all military operations and missions they have been tasked with. This is not only because of the advancement and development of military colleges and training opportunities for armed forces but also because our citizens who love to be a soldier.”

Shaikh Mohammad wished the officers and members of the UAE Armed Forces more success in their efforts to boost their training and readiness.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Hamad Suhail Al Khaili, Mohammad Mubarak Al Mazroui, Undersecretary of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi and Lieutenant General Juma Ahmed Al Bawardi Al Falasi, Adviser to Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and other senior officials.
