Dubai: “The UAE flag is a symbol of our union and strength and a source of pride for our forefathers and sons,” said His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the occasion of the Flag Day.

In a series of tweets, Shaikh Mohammad said, “ ... and under its banner, we will continue to build up on our development progress. To further enhance the UAE’s pioneering position, our young people will continue shaping the future of the UAE.”

Accompanied by his daughter Al Jalila Bint Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shaikh Mohammad raised the UAE flag at the Union House on Thursday morning, marking the Flag Day.

The UAE Flag Day was celebrated across the UAE on Thursday by all government departments, organisations, private sector companies, schools, colleges and individuals with a plethora of activities in which Emiratis and residents came together showing their shared love of the country. The nation celebrated at 11am with flag-raising events and activities.

Emirates Post, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF), Thuraya Telecommunications Company, Abu Dhabi’s business and lifestyle destination Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the International Financial Centre in Abu Dhabi, also joined government departments, the public and private sector organisations, to celebrate UAE Flag Day.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company Masdar, the Ministry of Finance, the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), and Dubai Customs also commemorated UAE Flag Day today.
