Abu Dhabi: The ad hoc committee at the Executive Committee of the emirate of Abu Dhabi on Wednesday adopted the programme titled: “Hares Al Madina or City Guard” which will constitute an interactive channel for the public to interact with the government of Abu Dhabi in spotting erroneous conduct.

The application for this programme is downloadable from application stores for iphones, Android and BBs except the BB10, which is the latest version.

The programme will contribute to increasing the confidence of society in general, investors and the business sector in particular, in the efficiency of the government in extending services, its ability to deal with different circumstances, and to reduce risks to economic government services associated with the network at the level of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, the Executive Council said.

It added that this will enhance indicators of readiness of e-government and its classification globally, and will promote the level of government services extended by government agencies.

The programme covers issues such as public safety, consumer protection and environmental issues by taking pictures and video clips or audio clips which will assist the programme to identify and locate the source of information accurately, through an interactive map built and sent directly to Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre.

The programme will automatically report to the Centre, which in turn refers it to the concerned entity to solve it. The Executive Council said that this also represents a major milestone on the path to achieving uniqueness, creativity and excellence in order to keep pace with the international development in information systems and decision-making, so as to enhance the status of Abu Dhabi.

The user can follow the progress of the report, starting from the day it has been filed or reported until the case is solved either through the “Hares Al Madina or City Guard” or via Abu Dhabi e-Government Portal, or by directly calling the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre at 555 800.

The initiative, which is overseen by the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre, is deemed a new step to activate the participation of the public and to increase cooperation with government agencies in order to promote the emirate of Abu Dhabi at all levels.

The meeting was headed by Mohammad Ahmad Al Bawardi, Executive Council Member.
