Dubai Courts announced on Wednesday that, effective immediately, data linked to the Emirates ID will be fully used for all notary public transactions across the emirate, in a move aimed at streamlining legal processes and improving service efficiency.

The policy shift means residents will no longer need to provide separate documentation for identity verification during notary procedures, as long as they have updated and accurate Emirates ID data.

To ensure smooth and uninterrupted processing, authorities have advised residents to review and update their Emirates ID and personal information—particularly contact details such as mobile phone numbers and email addresses—through the official government channels— the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) and Amer centres.

Officials pointed out that any discrepancies in Emirates ID data could delay transaction processing and urged individuals to act promptly and update their IDs to ensure continued access to notary services under the updated framework. The move aligns with Dubai’s broader digital transformation strategy, which aims to simplify public services and integrate smart technologies across the legal and administrative sectors.
