Dh12.1m donated for orphans

Dubai: Dubai’s Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities donated Dh12.1 million to support orphans in the Islamic world.

The donation was handed by the department to Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) when Dr Hamad Bin Al Shaikh Al Shaibani, director-general of the department, handed the cheque to Mohammad Al Zarouni, director of the ERC branch in Dubai.

Al Shaibani emphasised that the department plays an active role in the field of humanitarian work.
